We are in the middle of a pandemic. A pandemic that has left thousands of people unemployed and in desperate need of help. Because of the coronavirus outbreak, so many people are barely able to feed themselves and their families.
Robinhood Army has taken a step in the right direction with their ‘Mission 30 million’. In this mission, their aim is to serve 30 million meals in 10 different countries.
We are proud to announce that we have partnered with RHA’s Central Delhi chapter for our fundraiser, ‘Thought For Food’, of which they are our distributing partners.
It is an honour to help serve so many people, but they’re not strangers. Because we see them in every hungry kid that roams the streets of Delhi or begs for food outside Connaught Place. So join us, and help us serve the not so unfamiliar faces after all.
Thought For Food: A Perspectives Initiative is a mission to provide dry ration to the daily homeless, wage workers, migrant labourers and the financially poor.
Due to the complete COVID19 lockdown across the country, daily wage workers are left with no work & scarce government support.
The ones who are the only earning member of the family are affected the most.
Things ahead seem to be getting worse, as the lockdown has left some wrecking after-effects on the daily wage sector.
However, Perspectives, a non-profit, apolitical youth-run organization based in Delhi, is on a mission to help the needy, using an iterative model:
1. Our organisation procures supplies from wholesalers at a cheaper rate without compromising the quality.
2. We then hand-over the ration to our ground distribution partners.
3. Our distribution partners pick up the packets from the wholesaler and provide ration to the ones in need after verification.
What will the ration kit consist of?
The list includes, but isn't limited to:
1. Atta/Wholemeal wheat flour
2. Chawal/Rice
3. Channa dal/Chickpea
Each ration kit is procured at a cost ranging between ₹700-750
A contribution of ₹2000 would get 27kg Atta, 26.5kg Rice, & 15kg Daal which can help 3 families for upto 15 days.
To most of us, ₹1000might seem as a trivial amount, but it holds the power of feeding a family in need, & creating a space for humanity.
